Jay-Z, Kate Bush and Foo Fighters nominated for Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2021

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s 2021 nominees include Jay-Z, Foo Fighters, Kate Bush, Rage Against the Machine, Fela Kuti, LL Cool J, Mary J Blige, Iron Maiden, Carole King, Chaka Khan, Devo, Tina Turner, Dionne Warwick, New York Dolls, the Go-Go’s and Todd Rundgren.

Jay-Z and Foo Fighters' nomination arrives in their first year of eligibility. Other first-time nominees include Mary J. Blige, Fela Kuti, the Go-Go’s, Iron Maiden, and Dionne Warwick.

In order to qualify for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction, the individual artist or band needs to have released their first official recording at least 25 years prior.

As Pitchfork notes, Foo Fighters' nomination could be Dave Grohl's second induction after Nirvana were inducted in 2014. On top of that, if Carole King and Tina Turner are inducted, they will become the second and third woman to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame multiple times, following Stevie Nicks.
