Jay-Z hits out at Lil Wayne on new lyric for 'La Familia'
Jay-Z has continued to build a buzz around his upcoming Magna Carta Holy Grail record, due out in just four days, with a staggered reveal of the lyrics for each track via the accompanying Google Play app – and the latest appears to include a particularly barbed attack on Lil Wayne, carrying on a feud that began in 2011.
Jay-Z’s ‘H.A.M.’ – the first single from the Kanye West-collaboration Watch The Throne – originally called out the New Orleans rapper (nicknamed Weezy Baby) as well as fellow NOLA resident Brian “Birdman” Williams (aka Baby) for their relative wealth: “N*ggas fantasize about the shit that I do daily/Like these rappers rap about all the shit that I do really’ I’m like “Really: half a billi n*gga, really?” you got baby money/Keep it real with n*ggas, n*ggas ain’t got my lady’s money”.
Lil Wayne hit back the same year with ‘It’s Good‘, claiming, “I got your baby money/Kidnap your bitch, get that how much you love your lady money.”
Now the lyrics from ‘La Familia’ on the upcoming Jay-Z record appear to be a direct response back at Wayne, with the following lines: “N*gga wanna kidnap wifey/Good luck with that bruh/You must gonna hide your whole family/What you think we wearing black for?”.
