Jarvis Cocker shares Pulp-inspired artwork to support Sheffield venue The Leadmill
Jarvis Cocker has shared some Pulp-inspired artwork featuring the phrase "You can't buy The Leadmill" to bring awareness to the Sheffield venue's #WeCantLoseLeadmill campaign.
Last month The Leadmill venue bosses shared a post on socials revealing their landlord is "evicting us and forcing us to close" in one year's time, and encouraged fans and musicians to share their favourite memories of the venue using the #WeCantLoseLeadmill hashtag.
Following an influx of supportive posts from The Cribs, You Me At Six's Josh Franceschi, Kaiser Chiefs, Tim Burgess, Mystery Jets, Billy Bragg, Sleaford Mods, Little Comets, Enter Shikari and many more, the landlord pledged that the space will continue to be a music venue.
Over the weekend Jarvis Cocker shared some artwork by Graeme Swinton to raise awareness about the venue and its current situation. The artwork is inspired by Pulp's "Common People" single campaign which included posters of "the essential things in life that weren’t for sale," featuring the phrase: "You can't buy The Leadmill".
