Jarvis Cocker shares new version of "Running The World" with Kaiser Quartett
Jarvis Cocker has shared a new version of his 2006 single "Running The World", featuring strings by Kaiser Quartett.
With the ongoing campaign to get Jarvis Cocker's "Running The World" single to Number One in time for Christmas still in full swing, Cocker has shared a new version of the song, which he recorded with Kaiser Quartett for their forthcoming album.
The original melody is replaced by strings, and it's even more festive than the original.
Cocker wrote alongside the new version, "So here’s the story: about a month ago the Kaiser Quartett sent me a recording of their arrangement of "Running the World" & asked if I’d consider singing on it. So I did. The song will feature on one of their upcoming record releases but - given the current campaign - we thought you might like to get a sneak preview right now."
