Jarvis Cocker announces companion album for Wes Anderson's upcoming film The French Dispatch
Jarvis Cocker has announced Chansons d’Ennui Tip-Top, a companion album to Wes Anderson's new film The French Dispatch, alongside releasing his rendition of Christophe's "Aline".
Wes Anderson's new film The French Dispatch is due for release next month, and will star the likes of Timothée Chalamet, Willem Dafoe, Adrien Brody, Tilda Swinton, Owen Wilson, Bill Murray, Edward Norton and more.
Ahead of the film's release next month, Jarvis Cocker has released his version of Christophe's "Aline", part of which featured in the first trailer for the film in February 2020. Cocker's version of "Aline" will feature on the soundtrack for The French Dispatch alongside Alexandre Desplat’s original score.
As well as sharing the full version of "Aline", Cocker has announced Chansons d’Ennui Tip-Top, an album of French songs covered by Cocker that will arrive as a companion piece to Anderson's forthcoming film. As Stereogum reports, Cocker recorded the album of French songs with the same group of musicians featured on last year's JARV IS... album Beyond The Pale.
