Janelle Monáe's new single "Yoga" is a club anthem in the making
Last year's The Electric Lady saw Janelle Monáe dabble in "pop, R&B, soul and funk", but new single "Yoga" lurches into the nightclubs of Ibiza.
A collaboration with Jidenna, the single is set to feature on Monáe’s Wondaland Art Society compilation Eephus.
Rammed with the chantable chorus mantra of "Baby bend over/let your booty do that yoga...", it's clear that Monáe is gunning for big dance vibes and isn't afraid to get a big lewd. It also features the brilliant line, "even when I sleepy/I got one eye open/you cannot police me/so get off my areolaaaaaaaaa..."
Handclaps, dubby rises and dancehall beats all pockmark the cut with a hulking club vibe,
