Janelle Monáe is set to take over as the lead role in Amazon's Homecoming
Janelle Monáe has been confirmed to take over from Julia Roberts as the lead role in Amazon's Homecoming series.
The hit show, based on a podcast of the same name, saw Julia Roberts receive a Golden Globe nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series.
For the second season, Janelle Monáe will be taking over from Roberts in the lead role.
According to reports, Monáe will play "a tenacious woman who finds herself floating in a canoe, with no memory of how she got there."
Celebrating the announcement on Instagram, Monáe wrote, "Excited and ready for this wild ride."
