Jamie T working with Tribes frontman on new material
Johnny Lloyd, of Camden indie types Tribes, has confirmed that he’s currently working with Jamie T, who had previously put music largely on hiatus since his 2009 record Kings & Queens.
Although he has briefly collaborated with Tim Timebomb, aka Tim Armstrong of Rancid, Jamie T has not put anything out on his own for four years. But now the Tribes frontman has revealed he’s helping the singer work on new material.
Lloyd told Topman recently: ”I’m playing with Jamie T at the moment. He’s finishing his new album. I occasionally guest on stuff, but I want to be in control. Jamie’s record is great, it’s really slow, angry punk. He’s a classic character. I know if I walked down Denmark Street now he’d be in the pub.”
Jamie T’s Mercury Prize-nominated debut album, Panic Prevention, came out back in 2007.
