Jamie T details The Theory Of Whatever album and shares lead single "The Old Style Raiders"
Jamie T has shared details of his upcoming fifth album The Theory Of Whatever, as well as releasing the lead single "The Old Style Raiders".
"The Old Style Raiders" is the first taster of Jamie T's new album, and has "hope in it" according to Jamie T. He adds, "It's fighting to find something that means enough to you that you love. The fight to find that, and to carry on striving, to find something you love enough to hold on to. Rather than kid love or movie love or, gushy love or lust love, whatever you have when you're younger – it’s actually trying to fight for something that means more than that. It's the struggle to find that."
The new track, which is produced by Hugo White, is teamed with a Niall Trask-directed video.
The Theory Of Whatever will follow Jamie T's 2016 album Trick, and was written from his East London home studio.
"I was struggling to find my direction with the record for a few years, really," Jamie T explains. "I went home one day, and I found this track that I had recorded, pretty much fully finished. And I was really upset, because I realised that I'd spent the last six months asking other people to tell me if something was good. Then I heard this track and I just immediately knew I'd kind of found my path."
As well as sharing his new single and album details, Jamie T has announced his first live show in five years, which will take place at London's Subterania on 11 May. Those who pre-order Jamie T's new album by 5pm BST on 5 May will be able to buy tickets for the intimate show.
