James Vincent McMorrow releases new song "Tru Love"
James Vincent McMorrow has unveiled new song "Tru Love" today (2 September) as the latest taster of his first album in four years Grapefruit Season.
"Tru Love" will appear on Grapefruit Season alongside earlier singles "Paradise", "Waiting", "Headlights", Kenny Beats collaboration "I Should Go" and the Paul Epworth-produced "Gone", and follows his appearance on Claptone's "Wake Up" track in July.
McMorrow wrote on Instagram, "Sitting on this album was incredibly hard, anyone who knows me know I like to move fast, release fast. But I also know this album needed to come out at a moment where I could make all my ideas and vision for it land. And this song wouldn’t have happened if it wasn’t for the pause, the album is better because of the pause. I’m getting really excited now for this record to come out!"
Grapefruit Season will follow his 2017 album True Care, and was largely recorded before the pandemic between London, Los Angeles and Dublin, featuring production from Paul Epworth, Kenny Beats, Lil Silva and Patrick Wimberly (Chairlift).
