James Blake has been awarded this year’s Barclaycard Mercury Music Prize tonight at a ceremony in London.
The singer beat the likes of David Bowie, Arctic Monkeys, Foals, Disclosure and more to claim the trophy, picking it up for recent effort Overgrown.
The Mercury Prize annually heralds the best album produced over the past 12 months by a UK or Irish-born band or artist, with last year’s accolade going to Alt-J for An Awesome Wave.
