Jamal Edwards' cause of death revealed by mum Brenda
Brenda Edwards has shared a statement revealing that her son and SB.TV founder Jamal died in February "due to cardiac arrhythmia" caused by taking recreational drugs.
Back in February Jamal Edwards died aged 31, with his mum Brenda stating that it was after a "sudden illness". In a new statement shared on socials this morning (7 June), Brenda Edwards revealed that she has "sadly learned that the cause of Jamal's devastating passing was due to cardiac arrhythmia caused by having taken recreational drugs".
Edwards also wrote that "Jamal is proof that this can happen to anyone," and that "these types of substances are extremely unpredictable," and encouraged "more conversation about the unpredictability of recreational drugs and the impact they can have."
She also reflected on her relationship with her son and his achievements, and how he inspired people and worked "tirelessly to unite and give a platform to countless people and communities across the UK."
