Jade Bird covers Kate Bush and The Bangles at End Of The Road 2019
Jade Bird covered The Bangles and Kate Bush during End Of The Road 2019 - the latter during a secret set on the Piano Stage.
Bird tackled "Walk Like An Egyptian" during a Garden Stage set packed with high-octane numbers and tracks with crunchy, Courtney Barnett-esque riffs, whipping up the sun-baked crowds. Shortly afterwards, the Northumberland-raised singer/songwriter played a stripped-back surprise set at Best Fit's Piano Stage, ending the performance with a haunting, piano-led rendition of Kate Bush's "Running Up That Hill" .
"She's just an iconic artist," Bird told us of her cover choice after the set. "And that is the best song ever."
"I love how cosy this stage is," she added. "It was nice to play the sadder songs here where it was a bit closer and quieter"
