Ja Ja Ja club night: Take a look at Mountain Bird's life in a photo diary
The Ja Ja Ja club night is back once again at The Lexington next week, and those Nordic music geniuses at JJJ have came up with the goods in a lineup that includes Iceland's Mr Silla, Norwegian producer Gundelach and Sweden's Mountain Bird.
Mountain Bird is the dream-pop project of Adam Öhman, who announced himself over a year ago with the gorgeous 80s-tinged "The Visitor" and followed it up with the dramatic "Dream" in the middle of last year. With the promise of new music in the spring (i.e. very soon), it's the perfect time for Mountain Bird to play the Ja Ja Ja club night.
We asked Öhman to give us a visual insight into his life as a musician, and you can view the results below - along with a stream of "Dream".
This is my BFF Pelle; we met for the first time in my last studio when I looked for someone to share it with me. My life changed completely and it feels like we could do anything for each other, we help out as much as we can. He always helps me put up our setup for live and I play drums for his projects.
This is my “To Do List” for Mountain Bird. My friends often call me a workaholic but I like to call it organized…I’ve changed around in my team a lot last year so I’ve been working a little bit more than a normal person might do, but you learn to stand up straight and how the business works so it’s all good!
We had a really interesting gig at a clothing store release, it’s cool to not just play club gigs all the time…
Early morning, heading to studio. I always carry around that bag with my laptop…you never know when an idea strikes
We opened up for Kate Boy here in Stockholm at Göta Källare, great sound at that venue!
These are my friends; the most loving, talented people walking this earth. My beloved band that just take snapshots of my produced tracks and play them live with me, without them I would be one sad soul. Just look at them!
My beloved second home, London. Been working a lot towards the UK and been hanging around a bunch of times. People in the UK seem to be really fond and welcoming when it comes to my type of music.
The best vegan-sushi in Stockholm, at restaurant Kokyo. My mom and I often go out, eat something and discuss life for hours. We have really similar mind-sets and she always believed in me.
This is Chris, one of Stockholm’s best producers. We have this tendency to always meet up when it gets dark outside and isolate ourselves from the world and write music during night, feeling.
My true home. A really shitty picture of my beautiful studio, situated 400 metres from my apartment in Vasastan, Stockholm.
Mountain Bird will play Ja Ja Ja at The Lexington alongside Mr Silla and Gundelach on 31 March. Tickets cost just £5 in advance for Ja Ja Ja members (£7 for non-members), and you can sign up for free.
