Ja Ja Ja club night: Listen to Mr Silla's party playlist
The Ja Ja Ja club night is back once again at The Lexington next week, and those Nordic music geniuses at JJJ have came up with the goods in a lineup that includes Norwegian producer Gundelach, Sweden's Mountain Bird and Iceland's Mr Silla.
Mr Silla is the solo incarnation of Icelandic artist Sigurlaug Gísladóttir, longtime member of múm and now a fascinating electronic artist in her own right. Having always performed shows on her own in her native Iceland, Gísladóttir finally released her self-titled debut album last year. Being part of the bill at Ja Ja Ja means many more people will soon get to hear the dark and involving tracks which make up her solo record, music which is quite the shift away from anything recorded as part of múm.
Ahead of next week's appearance ar Ja Ja Ja, Mr Silla has put together a party playlist for Best Fit. She describes it as "the songs I want to listen to when partying or hanging out with my friends. You know when you ask if you can play a song from youtube and you just know people are going to looove it! They for one reason or another make me want to play them over and over again."
You can listen below, following the video for her own recent single "Breathe"
Paul McCartney - "Secret Friend"
Farao - "TIAF"
Vaginaboys - "Elskan af því bara"
Cryptochrome - "Gameone"
Nicki Minaj ft Beyonce - "Feelin Myself"
Obaa Sima - "Ata Kak"
Egyptian Lover - "I Cry"
Able Edit - "I Gotta Woman"
William Onyeabor - "Fantastic Man"
Holger Czukay - "Persian Love"
Mr Silla will play Ja Ja Ja at The Lexington alongside Gundelach and Mountain Bird on 31 March. Tickets cost just £5 in advance for Ja Ja Ja members (£7 for non-members), and you can sign up for free.
