J Hus jailed for eight months after admitting knife possession
J Hus has been sentenced to eight months in jail after pleading guilty to carrying a knife in a public place.
In June the Common Sense rapper was arrested by police after they stopped and searched his vehicle in Stratford to find J Hus carrying a knife in a public place.
A month later J Hus pleaded not guilty at Snaresbrook Crown Court, and was released on bail. He changed his plea in October.
Today the BBC reports that J Hus has pleaded guilty for the knife posession charge, and has been sentenced to jail for eight months.
J Hus, real name Momodou Jallow, expressed in court that he "fully accepted his actions were careless", and went on to call his decision "ill advised" and "utterly stupid", before adding, "I was not in the right state of mind."
The Mobo Award-winning rapper has already had to make alterations to his touring schedule while the investigation was being carried out. Now he'll be away from his career for another eight months.
