ITV to launch live-voting talent show, Rising Star

British television channel, ITV have commissioned a new TV talent show called Rising Star.

The franchise, which allows viewers to vote on contestants during their actual performances, began in Israel during September. As of yet, no launch date has been announced for the British version.

“The bold real-time voting element means that viewers’ votes control every twist and turn of the live programme – and that makes for an incredibly dramatic, emotional and exciting show,” said production company Keshet International’s Elaine Bedell.

ITV recently £140 million deal with X-Factor to run for three more years.
