Is this a sign of Daft Punk's return or another soul-destroying hoax?
A new video, seemingly teasing Daft Punk's imminent return, has emerged online... but is it just another slickly produced hoax?
We'd love to be giddy with excitement and chirruping with glee at this, but repeated disappointments have deadened our world view recently. There was this elaborate ruse teasing a Coachella slot, fake Glasto rumours, and something fishy about the Lollapalooza lineup.
The video was uploaded earlier this month by YouTube user 4162016211411 (DAFTPUNK if each number correlates to a letter - D = 4, A = 1, etc.) - it also features a lengthy blurb of seemingly random numbers. A quick check by the intrepid folks at Reddit reveals that these are co-ordinates for various major cities and festival venues... and they line up exactly with their '07 tour.
As EDM Sauce point out, this is also the same graphic from their 2007 tour.
While nothing concrete has come out about the French duo's comeback (in fact a "well placed source" says its not gonna happen), an expectation is there following big world tours in 1997 and 2007.
Despite all this, fans on Reddit are having fun deciphering codes. Check out their findings.
