Nirvana’s surviving members Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic have a busy week ahead of them. Wednesday night will see them appearing on The Tonight Show before getting inducting into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on Thursday. They’re definitely scheduled to perform at the latter, but who will front the band following the passing of Kurt Cobain 20 years ago?
They’ve already recruited Sir Paul McCartney for the role, so a repeat of that may look like they’ve actually employed the former Beatle full-time. Rather than going instrumental however, it now appears they’ve handpicked Joan Jett for the gig.
As Stereogum note, the Foo Fighters Instagram account recently posted a picture of Krist’s bass, Pat Smear’s guitar, Dave’s drums and Jett’s melody maker.
Whether or not Jett will perform on Fallon or at the actual Hall of Fame ceremony itself is not yet known, but pretty exciting (and surprising) nonetheless.
