Kristen Stewart and Finn Wittrock star in Interpol's video for new song "If You Really Love Nothing"
Interpol's new track "If You Really Love Nothing" sees Kristen Stewart and Finn Wittrock star in the nocturnal visuals.
Interpol's final offering before their Marauder album arrives tomorrow (24 August) is the brooding "If You Really Love Nothing".
Accompanied by visuals directed by Hala Matar, the video showcases LA's nightlife with stars Finn Wittrock (American Horror Story/La La Land) and Kristen Stewart (Twilight/Personal Shopper).
On the new video, frontman Paul Banks explains, "Hala is a young director I had the pleasure of meeting a few years ago, and I’ve been a big fan of her short film work since. Her luscious use of colors and lighting, her insightful dialogue and playful direction, for me, are her hallmarks. There’s always humor, drama and atmosphere to spare in her work. I see all of these qualities in her video for "If You Really Loving Nothing". And speaking on behalf of Interpol, we are so proud to have had the opportunity of this collaboration."
“Kristen Stewart is the perfect actress for this part. I don’t think there’s anyone that could have better played the role. She nails it, and I love the performance from Finn Wittrock. Another wonderful casting choice – he plays the role of Kristen’s beleaguered companion beautifully.”
"If You Really Love Nothing" follows on from previous singles "The Rover" and "Number 10".
Marauder is Interpol's sixth studio album, and arrives four years after their last, El Pintor.
In conjunction with their album release, Interpol will play two record store performances at Kingston's Pryzm for Banquet Records on 29 August and Rough Trade East on 30 August.
"If You Really Love Nothing" is available now. Marauder arrives 24 August via Matador. Interpol are currently on their world tour, and play London's Royal Albert Hall on 14 November. Find their full tour schedule.
