Famous for bringing many characters to life, such as Luther, and portraying Nelson Mandela in Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom, Idris Elba now signs to the UK-based Parlophone.
He’s been a prolific DJ for years, appearing across the world and working closely with Radio 1. According to the Parlophone’s Twitter feed, Elba’s inked a deal. It’s unclear at the moment what will come of this union, and whether we’ll see Elba release any LPs, or simply use it as a launchpad for a more secure foothold in touring, remains to be seen.
However, Parlophone’s website does state that Elba arrives with “incredibly exiting ideas of which you’ll be able to hear about soon!”
