Iceland Music launches LIVE hub to host all concert listings for Icelandic artists
Iceland Music has launched Iceland Music LIVE, a discovery hub that features an automatically generated list of all concerts for Icelandic artists and allows users to discover new music from the island.
Iceland Music LIVE is hosted on the Iceland Music site, and features an automatically generated list of all tour dates (including international ones) for Icelandic artists, while also encouraging users to discover new talent from the Icelandic music scene through 20 playlists covering genres such as contemporary classical, indie, pop, jazz and more.
The concert feed is automatically generated based on a database operated by Mobilitus, and currently features over 700 shows by 48 artists taking place in 36 countries. The concert lists can be sorted by artist, date or location, and allows users to access tickets for shows with a single click.
Sigtryggur Baldursson, the Managing Director of Iceland Music said, "We know how much the international community loves music from Iceland, so we want to make it easy for everyone to know about the shows our artists are putting on all around the world. As of now, we have about three shows a night that Icelandic artists are performing internationally."
Ólafur Arnalds said of Iceland Music LIVE, "Yet another way the resourceful people of Iceland Music have found to amplify and spread the word about Icelandic music - and a much needed and appreciated effort in time where musicians are struggling to make their tours a viable endeavour. See you out there on the road!"
Kjartan Sveinsson of Sigur Rós added, "It is amazing to see all these artists finally playing music for people all over the world."
The CEO of Mobilitus, Toti Stefansson, said, "We are proud to streamline ticket sales for Icelandic artists. From our 10 years in the ticket sales industry we understand how important live music is as a revenue stream for most artists. The last two years have hit our side of the industry the hardest so it’s brilliant seeing our best artists back on the road."
