Iceage sign to Mexican Summer and release new single "The Holding Hand"
Copenhagen’s Iceage have returned with new single "The Holding Hand", which coincides with news of the band's signing to Mexican Summer.
"The Holding Hand" marks Iceage's first release on Mexican Summer, and first outing of 2021, following last year's coronavirus-inspired single "Lockdown Blues".
Lead vocalist Elias Bender Rønnenfelt says of the song, "The song lives in a slurred world, movements are elastically stretched out and strength is found in weakness while you find it hard to tell the difference between fume and matter. Gently the swaying intensifies, feel it escalate. Reach out for the holding hand, it seems almost within scope now."
The band are yet to follow up their 2018 album Beyondless. Back in October 2019, Iceage revealed they were "on the verge of recording our fifth full length album".
