Grant Hart of wildly influential punk/rock outfit Hüsker Dü has passed away at the age of just 56 following a battle with cancer.
Variety confirmed that Hart - the co-lead vocalist and drummer of the Minneapolis group - passed away.
Last night the band's official Facebook page posted the above headshot of Hart, and today bandmate Bob Mould posted a statement about his friend's passing: "The tragic news of Grant’s passing was not unexpected to me. My deepest condolences and thoughts to Grant's family, friends, and fans around the world."
Hüsker Dü recently announced a huge vinyl box set and streaming an enormous amount of unreleased early material. Find out more.
