Hurts embark on a late-night funk journey with new single "Lights"
Hurts have shared a new single from upcoming LP Surrender, called "Lights", and it's far and away the funkiest thing they've ever done.
In a recent interview with us, the duo spoke about their fondness for writing narrative-driven pop: “We like to tell tales and we've encountered a lot of people that could have been the protagonists in songs on our travels... every paradise has a strange undercurrent, an undertone that's dark. In these places like L.A., Ibiza, here [London], there are characters that have had a lot of trouble. People search it out. That's a tale for us.”
Surrender is released 9 October via Columbia. Stuart Price, Jonas Quant and Ariel Rechtshaid have worked on the record with the band.
