How does she do it? Empress Of strikes gold once more with her latest single
Empress Of - aka Lorely Rodriguez - has revealed her latest cut from upcoming LP Me - it's called "How Do You Do It".
Filmed in Los Angeles, the song's video "plays out like a personal travelogue",with Rodriguez saying: “On tour, I spend 23 hours of my day driving, flying, shaving my legs in gross venue bathrooms, sleeping on floors or in motels… to get to that one hour of bliss on stage. I wanted to make a video about this other side of being an artist.”
Flitting between the soft '80s pop of Blood Orange and the flickering trance pulses of Maya Jane Coles, "How Do You Do It" provides a deeper glimse into Rodriguez's sonic arsenal.
The new single follows "Kitty Kat" and "Water Water" in showcasing the up-and-comer's blinding electro-pop talents. Rodriguez also recently shared a stunning cover of Katy Perry's "Hot N Cold".
Me is out via Terrible/XL on 11 September.
