Hovvdy share vibrant new track "Mr. Lee"
Hovvdy have shared new single "Mr. Lee", a bright offering from their forthcoming album Heavy Lifter.
"Mr. Lee" is the fourth offering to be lifted from Hovvdy's Heavy Lifter record, after "So Brite", "Ruin (my ride)", and "Cathedral".
Hovvdy's Charlie Martin says of the new single, "I imagined "Mr. Lee" on the Mississippi gulf coast where my dad and grandparents live. It’s a beautiful and sad place. The song is about how significant very small things can be. Sometimes it takes courage to be kind to yourself. It’s really amazing when little events coalesce and all the sudden you feel better, awake, a vibrant piece of the bigger picture."
Their forthcoming album Heavy Lifter will follow on from last year's Cranberry.
Back in June the Austin band released a split EP of covers with Lomelda.
Heavy Lifter was recorded in autumn last year across multiple home studios in Texas with the help of producer, engineer, and multi-instrumentalist Ben Littlejohn.
