The “Godfather of House” Frankie Knuckles passed away yesterday (31 March) at the age of 59.
The Chicago DJ, originally born in the Bronx, popularised the genre during the 1980s and was inducted into the Dance Music Hall of Fame in 2005. He died in Chicago from complications related to diabetes.
