Holy Roar Records employees publicly resign after label founder is accused of sexual abuse
The employees of Holy Roar Records have publicly resigned after label founder Alex Fitzpatrick was accused of rape, sexual harassment and abusive behaviour.
The allegations against Alex Fitzpatrick were made public on Instagram on Monday (7 September), and last night (8 September), the employees of the independent label posted a statement confirming their resignations from the label.
It reads, "We have spent the last 24 hours in horror of the allegations that have been made against Alex Fitzpatrick, the owner of Holy Roar. The extremely serious allegations are against everything that myself, Sam, Wil, and our bands - stand for. We, the labels employees, are resigning from working with Holy Roar effective immediately. We are sorry for the long silence, it was a lot for us to process with our bands and personally and we found out the same time as the public. Alex will be making his own statement in due course."
Since the allegations were posted earlier this week, numerous bands of the Holy Roar Records roster have cut ties with the label and shared statements about their next steps, including Rolo Tomassi, Ithaca, Respire, Svalbard, Palm Reader, Fall of Messiah, and Renounced.
