Holy Roar founder vows to clear name against allegations of rape and abuse
Holy Roar Records founder Alex Fitzpatrick has released a statement denying the allegations of rape and sexual abuse, and has vowed to clear his name.
The allegations against Alex Fitzpatrick were made public on Instagram on Monday (7 September), and last night (8 September), the employees of the independent label posted a statement confirming they will no longer work with the label.
This morning (9 September), Fitzpatrick has shared a statement on his social media accounts denying the allegations and revealing that he's resigned from his businesses to focus on clearing his name.
Fitzpatrick's post reads, "You may have been made aware of the devastating allegations against me on social media, the most serious of which have been made by women who I dated approximately 8 years ago. These allegations are false, and I am doing everything I can to clear my name. I immediately instructed solicitors to help me defend my name and reputation. For legal reasons, I am advised by my solicitors, at this stage, to refrain from making further comments. I have also resigned with immediate effect from my businesses to enable me to focus on clearing my name."
Since the allegations were posted earlier this week, numerous bands of the Holy Roar Records roster have cut ties with the label and shared statements about their next steps, including Rolo Tomassi, Ithaca, Respire, Svalbard, Palm Reader, Fall of Messiah, and Renounced.
