hmv to open new flagship store in Birmingham
hmv have revealed that they'll be opening Europe's largest music and entertainment store in Birmingham next month.
After getting 2019 off to a rocky start, it seems that hmv is back on solid ground as they've revealed that a new flagship store will be coming to Birmingham next month.
The 25,000sqft hmv Vault store will have a permanent stage and PA area for in-store events, as well as an enormous selection of "vinyl and CDs, DVDs, Blu-ray and 4K discs, games and books, a range of tech products such as turntables and headphones, and a carefully curated selection of merchandise including T-shirts, posters and much, much more."
The hmv site also states that the store will be "a focal point for hmv's upcoming centenary in 2021, when the chain will celebrate its 100th birthday."
Back in February, hmv was bought by Sunrise Records' Doug Putman after the company fell into administration for a second time. Putman managed to save 100 of the 127 UK branches, including four Fopp stores.
