Hear Porches cover a Beatles classic for SiriusXM
Porches, aka New York's Aaron Maine, has covered The Beatles' 1964 number "If I Fell" in a new session for SiriusXM.
The original was written by Paul McCartney and John Lennon. In 1980, during an interview with Playboy, Lennon revealed: "That's my first attempt at a ballad proper... it shows that I wrote sentimental love ballads way back when."
Maine's take strips it back and slows it down, making it a much more pensive piano-led song.
Maine might love this track a lot, but it didn't come up when he told us all about the pivotal songs in his life.
(Sandy) Alex G, Blood Orange's Dev Hynes, Okay Kaya, Maya Laner (True Blue), Bryndon Cook of Starchild and The New Romantic, Cameron Wisch of Cende, and Maine's own father Peter Maine all contribute to upcoming record The House, which follows 2016's Water EP and Pool album.
