Hayley Williams steps back from social media, says she doesn't "want it anymore"
Hayley Williams has announced her exit from social media, revealing that she doesn't "want it anymore".
Over the weekend Hayley Williams announced that she will no longer be on social media, and will be stepping back from all her accounts including her "finsta".
In the statement shared on Instagram, Williams revealed that social media has been a "useful and mostly beautiful" part of her job as a musician, and wrote that it's "a pretty good tool" for connection "when it's not tearing us apart."
Williams continued, "The thing is, connection is and will always be a part of my job (thankfully). As for my own personal experience with social media, I just don't want it anymore."
"I've carefully considered this decision for almost a year now," Williams added in her statement. "Now I know for sure that my desire to move away from personal accounts (yes, even my finsta) is based on nothing more than my interest in keeping a boundary between a public and private life...and wanting to spend more time looking up and out, rather than down."
She concluded her statement by revealing fans can reach her via Paramore's official social media accounts.
