Hayley Williams praises Fontaines DC as "a band that generations from now are going to talk about"
Hayley Williams has praised Fontaines DC in the latest episode of her Everything Is Emo show on BBC Sounds' Back To Back Sounds: Amplified, saying that she thinks they're "a band that generations from now are going to talk about."
This week saw Williams release the second episode of her Everything Is Emo show, which is released via Back To Back Sounds: Amplified, the new music feature on BBC Sounds, and as well as paying tribute to late Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins, Williams spoke about The Cure, Bloc Party, and Fontaines DC.
While discussing Fontaines DC, who released their Skinty Fia album last month, Williams said, "["Jackie Down The Line"] is one of my favourite songs of the year. I’m going to say top five songs of the year. Fontaines DC are killing it and I feel like it’s important to say that they have things to say."
She added, "They’re just a really cool and I think, very important, band for now… I feel like Fontaines DC will be a band that generations from now are going to talk about."
Williams' Everything Is Emo show will feature 20 hour-long episodes.
