Harry Styles' Harry's House album smashes Taylor Swift's one-week vinyl sales record in the US
Harry Styles has broken Taylor Swift's one-week vinyl sales record in the US following the release of his third solo album Harry's House.
On 20 May Styles released his third solo album Harry's House, and it's gone on to break a record previously held twice by Taylor Swift.
As Billboard reports, Styles' latest album is only the fourth album in the last 18 months to gain more than 500,000 units in a single week, and marks the biggest first week for an album since Adele's 30 in November last year.
Styles' new album has also broken a record previously held by Taylor Swift after selling 182,000 vinyl copies of the album in the US in the first week. Swift first set the record with Evermore after selling 102,000 vinyl copies, and then broke her own record with Red (Taylor's Version) in November last year by selling 114,000 in the first week.
Billboard reports that Styles' vinyl sales were so huge that those units alone would've given him the number one spot on the Billboard 200 chart in all but three weeks of 2022.
