Hare Squead and Flamingods lead mammoth list of names added to Iceland Airwaves line-up
Iceland Airwaves has unveiled 73 new additions to the bill including Flamingods, Hare Squead and a whole host of local favourites including 19-strong female rap crew Reykjavíkurdætur and trap-supergroup trio GANGLY.
The latest additions join Mumford & Sons, Fleet Foxes, Sigrid, Michael Kiwanuka, Songhoy Blues, Àsgeir, Billy Bragg, Benjamin Clementine, Arab Strap, JFDR, Kelly Lee Owens, Aldous Harding and Mammùt.
Now in its 18th year, Airwaves will also expand to a second site in Akureyri, North Iceland for the first time ever.
The festival has also announced that "due to unforeseen circumstances" Fleet Foxes will now play only one Iceland Airwaves set. The 4 November show will be the band’s only show: the set scheduled the day before is cancelled. Ásgeir will take over the Friday headline slot instead at Eldborg, Harpa, replacing his original Wednesday 1 November set.
