Halsey leaks original version of Manic bonus track "Wipe Your Tears"
The Manic singer/songwriter has been busy protesting following the death of George Floyd, and last week she set up Black Creators Funding Initiative to help "black creators and amplify their art, voice and perspective."
Yesterday (14 June), to celebrate Pride Month, Halsey leaked a recording of the original version of "Wipe Your Tears" - a bonus track that featured on the Japanese release of her Manic album.
She wrote on Twitter, "prolly gon get in trouble for this but, happy pride ! here’s the full OG version of wipe your tears. my favorite wlw song of mine that ended up on a special release of Manic. If it gets taken down it ain’t my fault."

One fan replied, "this is so superior to the final version." Halsey responded, "There’s actually three versions of this song in existence hahaha. You guys have two of them now."

Back in January, Halsey revealed via a Spotify Q+A why "Wipe Your Tears" wasn't on the main Manic tracklist, "It was really hard deciding which songs were going to be exclusive to different versions of the album. But I ultimately ended up putting "Wipe Your Tears" and "I’m Not Mad" as bonus tracks because even though I really wanted to keep them, they felt the least essential to the plot that I was trying to get across, because they were so much about other people. And even though there are songs on Manic about my experiences with others, I really wanted the journey to feel cohesive, as being about me, and about myself, and my discovery."
