HALEY (fka Haley Bonar) unveils electro-tinged belter "Bratt"
HALEY - who made the decision to change her moniker last year - has unveiled "Bratt", one half of a special 7" due out next month.
"Bratt" will be packaged with "My Wave" on red vinyl for a new release on Record Store Day. The artwork comes courtesy of HALEY's young daughter.
"These two songs are kind of the last ones I wrote with lyrics in them, at least, for the time being," HALEY explains. "'Bratt' was intended to be sung from a teenage perspective, appropriating that unsentimental attitude while simultaneously looking back at yourself at that age, all of the insecurities that went along with it, letting go of your self-judgement on the past."
As well as the release, HALEY will be marking Record Store Day with a performance at Cardiff's Spillers Records on 20 April for BBC 6 Music. On Record Store Day itself (21 April) she'll be heading out to play a range of UK record stores, including Resident Music, Pie and Vinyl, and Banquet.
HALEY released her most recent LP, Impossible Dream, in 2016. It's very good.
