Haim reject chance to feature on new Arctic Monkeys album
Both with new albums this year, Haim have revealed that they turned down an offer to guest on the new Arctic Monkeys record.
The Sheffield band are set to release their upcoming fifth LP, entitled AM, next month, produced by James Ford, who also produced Haim’s Days Are Gone effort. It was Ford who sought to introduce the two acts by playing the LA sisters a snippet of the AM record.
“They loved it. So me and the Arctics had the discussion, ‘Should we get some real girls in?”, Ford told NME. Haim, however, were a bit too busy to commit. ”We tried to push things around to make it work,” says bassist Este. “But when it came down to it, we had to finish our record… It was one of the most painful calls to say no. Maybe the worst day of my life.”
Haim release their debut album on 30 September.
