Guided By Voices drummer puts drum kit on Ebay for $55,000

As David Letterman often notes, it’s hard for drummers in even the most high-profile of bands to afford their own kit sometimes. Especially when, like Guided By Voices drummer Kevin Fennell, it costs over $50k.

Fennell, of the Robert Pollard-led Ohio band, recently put his drum kit on eBay, with the starting price of a whopping $55,000.

“These drums have played three US and three European tours including the 2010 Reunion Tour. They have played Central Park Summer Stage and The Jon Stewart Show,” the description reads.

“Hand delivered and set-up by Kevin anywhere in the continental USA. And if you’re nice he might just jam with you.”
