Grimes responds to recent press and "privacy invasion" with new song "LOVE"
Grimes has uploaded a song titled "LOVE" to Instagram, and reveals in the caption that it's a response to recent press and "all the privacy invasion" she's experienced this week.
Last week Elon Musk revealed to Page Six that he and Grimes are "semi-separated but still love each other, see each other frequently and are on great terms". They spent three years together and have a son called X Æ A-Xii.
This afternoon (30 September), Grimes uploaded a song via Instagram called "LOVE", and revealed that she "wrote and produced this song this week in response to all the privacy invasion, bad press, online hate and harassment by paparazzis I’ve experienced this week."
She also included the lyrics for the song, which opens with: "It fucking sucks to be awake / Oh Lord I pray my soul to take / Nobody understands because / Everything they hate / Is everything I love."

Earlier this month Grimes gave an update on her new album, revealing she's "finishing" it and thinks it's "by far my greatest work that I've ever done".
In July Grimes revealed her follow-up to last year's Miss Anthropocene album is a "space opera" that results in a lesbian AI romance.
