Grimes might be dragged into Elon Musk's lawsuit
Tesla shareholders are trying to drag Grimes into Elon Musk's lawsuit in the hope she can provide new evidence.
Last year Elon Musk tweeted, "Am considering taking Tesla private at $420. Funding secured", an inside joke between him and his then-girlfriend Grimes.

The "$420" was linked to the popular marijuana term '420', and now Tesla shareholders are trying to propose that Grimes could provide new evidence, and clarify the events surrounding his tweet last year.
Zero Hedge and Financial Post report that Grimes is apparently resisting the request, while Musk's lawyers are arguing that their request is just to "sensationalize" the case.
Musk's attorney, Dean Kristy, said in a court filing yesterday (3 January), "It is readily apparent that this is more of an effort to sensationalize these proceedings than a legitimate attempt to preserve evidence."
Kirsty asked the judge to deny the request to include Grimes in the lawsuit, stating that it's nothing more than “rank speculation” that Musk's ex-girlfriend has anything useful to divulge on Musk's behaviour around the time of the tweet in question.
Azealia Banks has also been subpoenaed after she claimed to be trapped in Musk's mansion waiting for Grimes to collaborate, around the same time as Musk's tweet in question, which you can read in more detail over at Consequence of Sound. Around the same time, Banks uploaded screenshots of her messages with Grimes, revealing intimate details of her relationship, and Musk's progress with Tesla.
