Grimes, Four Tet, The xx & more to play Young Turks NYE party in Mexico
Young Turks Records, the independent British label home to the xx and SBTRKT, has announced the line-up for its New Year’s Eve party, set to be held in the ancient Mayan ruins of Tulum in Mexico.
The xx themselves are scheduled to feature, as are Grimes, Four Tet, John Talabot, Koreless, Tasker, and many more.
The ambient-noir trio recently curated their own mini festival last month and invited Koreless along for the ride, while Jamie xx and Talabot got together for a three hour set in Miami earlier this year. Four Tet has busied himself mixing Syrian star Omar Souleyman‘s debut studio album, and also found time to be the subject of hoax claims about the identity of Burial.
Pitchfork reported that the label will also be organising a number of side-events, allowing Talabot, Tet, Tasker and Jamie to demonstrate their individual DJing talents.
Tulum is a port city on the eastern coast of Mexico, and was once the site of a walled Mayan city that fell to the Spanish conquistadors in the late 16th century.
