Green Man Festival "need a bit more time" before making decision about 2021 event
Organisers of Wales' Green Man Festival have provided an update regarding this year's event, revealing they "a bit more time to digest the latest developments" before they can make a decision.
Green Man Festival have been planning to return this year after having to cancel last year's edition due to the pandemic, but due to the lockdown exit delay also happening in Wales, organisers have shared a statement revealing they're waiting for more information before making a decision about the 2021 event, which will hopefully take place from 19-22 August in the Brecon Beacons.
Organisers wrote in a statement on socials, "To our Green Man family - big thanks for your patience & support. We know how much you want GM to happen this year & we’ve been doing all that we can to make it so in this incredibly challenging time. We’ve had a huge response following the Welsh & UK Gov announcements, and it’s great to see large sports events opening up. Unfortunately this doesn’t mean that Green Man can definitely take place too, as this opportunity hasn’t been extended to festivals at the moment."

"Successful test events have taken place in Wales & England, but unfortunately we just don’t know when restrictions will be lifted in Wales," the statement continued. "We’re also awaiting an update on gov-backed festival insurance in the case of a forced covid cancellation. This would be a crucial lifeline."
"Frankly, this has been a very difficult time, not just for GM, but for the many thousands of amazing festivals that bring people together across the land. We wish them well & hope we can all return to the thing we love best - creating wonderful memories & making people happy."
