Grandaddy share new music, tease "early 2017" release
Grandaddy's Jason Lytle has shared snippets of new music and teased the long-awaited next album.
The fact Jason Lytle has been working on something Grandaddy-related over the past few months is no secret, but actually hearing new noises is very exciting - and a timeframe for its release is a nice bonus indeed.
Posting studio updates from Portland's Flora Studios, Lytle teased three (or maybe just two) tracks: "Mixing a grandaddy song today with @floramartine ....to appear in early 2017 ....exciting shit!"
He's not wrong - this is exciting shit. It's early stages still, but there are hints that this is going to be a very special return.
Grandaddy are playing a few shows this summer, including a massive performance at this year's Green Man Festival where they'll bring "new music". There's also Scottish and Dutch headline shows.
