Gordon Moakes departs Bloc Party?
Gordon Moakes (pictured far left), Bloc Party's bassist, has confirmed he is no longer "involved in the latest incarnation of Bloc Party".
Ex-drummer Matt Tong left last year, leaving only guitarist Russell Lissack and singer/guitarist Kele Okereke in the group.
Okereke recently confirmed that the band are currently working on album five. He also previewed a new track.
It is currently unclear whether Moakes will return at all in the future, or whether this hiatus is permanent.
Posting on Twitter as no-longer-a-side-project Young Legionnaire, Moakes confirmed his departure, at least for now.
Update for fans: I'm not involved in the latest incarnation of Bloc Party. I'm now focussing on Young Legionnaire. Gordy #rhythmsection4hire
