Goon sign to Partisan records and reveal new track "Choke Throat"
The LA four piece Goon announced their signing to Partisan records, alongside a new song, "Choke Throat".
Partisan have just taken on the rising band Goon, who made a great impression with their two self released EP's Dusk of Punk, and Happy Omen.
News of the new signing will also bring both of those EP's onto one vinyl, complete with two unreleased tracks, "Choke Throat" being one of them.
The new track comes after vocalist/guitarist Kenny Becker had surgery to relieve a serious sinus problem. He explains, "The song was inspired by the aftermath of a surgery Becker had last year to fix a serious sinus condition. He says: “The medication that I take now to maintain the benefits from the surgery sometimes gives me this crazy heartburn feeling that makes my throat feel like it's closing up. It happens less often now, but it was happening a lot around the time I recorded this song. My life pre-surgery was really difficult due to crazy sinus/respiratory problems. A lot of those problems have been alleviated, and I’d much rather live with the occasional ‘choke throat’ than go back to how things were.”
Goon will also be embarking on their first US tour commencing at LA's Unscene Fest on 30 July, and ending on 23 July at Albuquerque's Moonlight Lounge.
