Google launches Blob Opera feature that allows users to create opera-inspired songs with no skills
Google's new fun tool Blob Opera allows people with no music skills to create an opera-inspired song with just a few clicks.
With Christmas just around the corner, Google has launched a new Blob Opera feature to help get people in the festive spirit.
Google's new feature is a machine learning experiment made by David Li in collaboration with Google Arts & Culture.
The Blob Opera tool includes four blobs that sing different opera vocals at the click of a button. The first purple blob sings bass while the second blob (turquoise) adds tenor vocals. The third (green) blob contributes mezzo-soprano, and the final red blob sings soprano.
All the blobs can be dragged up and down and forward and back to change the vowel sounds and pitch, and there's even a record button for when users want to create an opera-inspired song.
If users aren't up for experimenting, the four blobs also sing a variety of classic Christmas tracks including "Jingle Bells" and "Silent Night".
