Google celebrate synth pioneer Robert Moog with playable homepage
It’s so surprisingly easy not to stumble upon Google on a daily basis nowadays, especially when just typing something into your browser will autosearch a term or phrase for you – sometimes to rather bafflingly unlucky results. That said, it would be a great shame if you didn’t get to see today’s special music-themed Google Doodle.
Google are marking what would have been synth-pioneer and electronic music visionary Robert Moog’s 78th birthday with an online replica of his most famed inventor, the eponymous Moog keyboard. Equipped with oscillators and filter dials, you can even record your creations and share them on Google+.
Moog sadly passed away in 2005 at the age of 71, but we’re sure he’d be pretty happy with this.
Have a mess around on the Google homepage. Try not to blame us when you spend hours on it though.
