Gold Panda shares new single "Transactional Relationship"
Gold Panda has unveiled his first standalone solo single in three years, "Transactional Relationship".
"Transactional Relationship" sees Gold Panda sample Hilary Woods' "Server" from her 2018 album Colt.
Speaking about the new single, Derwin Schlecker, aka Gold Panda, explains, "I made the track at home. I had a track nearly done and I’d bought the Hilary Woods LP after seeing her support Low at the Barbican and decided to give it a play during a tea break. There were bits that went really well with what I’d made so I decided to chop parts up in my mpc and layered them over my track, thus ruining Hilary’s song for evermore. I did a sort of "live take" and that was it."
The new single is his first since 2016's Your Good Times Are Just Beginning EP. Last year he released a collaborative album with Simian Mobile Disco's Jas Shaw, titled Selling.
Back in March he also released a new album of instrumentals as DJ Jenifa.
